island in the Indian Ocean, but part of Yemen, rich in endemic plant species.
To the ancient Greeks it was Dioscorida, from the Sanskrit Dvipa Sukhadhara –
Island of the Abode of Bliss...
The view... over the wide lagoon fringed with palm groves, on to the jagged heights of Mount Haghier [Haggeher] rising immediately behind, is, I think, to be placed amongst the most enchanting pictures I have ever seen.
